Location: Austin, TX

Position Description: The new open position is designed to understand, preventatively maintain, and support the voice network and systems for our customer base. The main focus of this engineer will be on Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco handsets, Cisco Catalyst switches and Cisco routers. Knowledge of voice gateways, routers, and switches is preferred. The network engineer will be act as a primary troubleshooting resource for both new installations and post-installation support.


Major Responsibilities:

  • End-user moves, adds, changes, deletes
  • Routine preventative maintenance on core voice applications
  • Primary troubleshooting from core network and phone system out to customer CPE, including handsets and network equipment to support customer base
  • Application and equipment testing from product development through support lifecycle as assigned projects
  • Train and increase technical proficiency of voice engineering and operational support personnel
  • Some remote and on-site customer interaction required

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years with Cisco Call Manager and Unity (Connection) Administration
  • Voice over IP principles and PBX functionality (Asterisk, Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, SIP, SCCP, H.323, etc.)
  • VPN and other remote connectivity
  • Cisco switches, routers and firewalls

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

  • Windows Server 2008 and 2003
  • CentOS Linux
  • Solid understanding of IP subnetting, Local and Wide Area Networks and Routing
  • VMware Support
  • Windows and Linux system administration
